Website enhancements

This month the BostonPHP site underwent four significant enhancements:

1. The addition of Joomlapolis' Community Builder
2. An upgrade of our newsletter system to Acajoom's mailing system
3. The addition of joomprod.com's AdsManager (classified ads)
4. The addition of Sigsiu's Online Business Index (local consultants directory)

We hope these components provide a better web experience for BostonPHP members and a more responsive communication system - including a more robust opt-in/out newsletter.  What does this mean?  Mail recipients no longer need to remember user names or passwords to opt-out  and those wishing to register at BostonPHP (and receive discounts and advance notice of OSS events) can simultaneously maintain their own profile (including mailing lists, etc.) to customize their interaction with us.  Additionally, AdsManager provides members with a classified advertising section prominently displayed on the site,  and finally, Sigsiu's Online Business Index provide a local open source consultants directory where BostonPHP members can "hawk their services".

We hope to expand these features in the future to provide even more functionality to the community.  Stay tuned....
