Podcast: Web 2.0 Business Models |

 Last week I had the pleasure of sitting down with Pito Silas, Brian Del Vecchio, and David Beisel to mull over the evolving web 2.0 business models. Both Pito and David had blogged about this topic in the past and I thought it might be interesting to get together to exchange our views in real time.
Pito is the founder of BlogBridge - a cool open source project focused on delivering a great news reader and news discovery system for professionals, David is currently a Principal at Masthead Venture Partners and also the founder of the Web Innovator's group, Brian Del Vecchio has been in the computer networking industry for 20 years. Brian blogs about the Boston area web scene at the newly launched BostonWTF.com.
The conversation wends its way through risk-sharing, abundance of software, loosely coupled transactions and even broaches the possibility of incentive pricing as a means of monetizing development.
After a bit of wrestling with the hard drive of my server, I was finally able to compile this podcast and hope you find it interesting. The background noise sometime gets a little loud, but I think you'll still be able to hear the group discuss the evolving business models that are evolving from the convergence of open source, web 2.0, and the long tail.
