BostonPHP is the unofficial, highly biased and overly ambitious PHP Users Group for Boston and its surrounding communities. Our membership ranges from newbie-to-techie. We discourage RTFM attitudes and encourage you to come see what PHP is all about.
BostonPHP works in conjunction with BostonPHP Meetup, usually meeting the first Wednesday of every month for structured presentation at a local university or business location, and then typically moves on to a nearby restaurant/bar/pub for more informal discussion (aka drink beer).
BostonPHP has its own mailing lists (BostonPHPTalk) to facilitate interaction among members and also hosts a number of SIG Forums, a Job Board , a BostonPHP Newsletter and member Blogs.
Governance
Mark Withington is the founder, acting president and benevolent dictator of BostonPHP, the Group Organizer of Boston PHP Meetup (http://php.meetup.com/29/) and is the Principal and founder of PLMresearch (www.PLMresearch.com), a service provider offering a suite of web-based lightweight collaboration tools that facilitate global sourcing and merchandising.
Mark holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University and a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire. Prior to PLMresearch, he was Research Director at The Aberdeen Group; Senior eCommerce Consultant at Siemens Business Services, LLC and International Distribution Manager at Datel, Inc. He has also held several management positions within local volunteer organizations as well elected positions in government.
BostonPHP wants you!
Since its inception in January 2005, BostonPHP has grown from a handful of members that met rather infrequently at a local coffee shop into today's membership of 600+ individuals. Meetings draw between 30 ~ 70 attendees with topics ranging from PHP technology to Open Source business models to collaborative work form structures. If you are interested in participating in our success, please contact us . We need people interested in:
