PHP Book for Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced - 2009/01/21 05:45 If I wanted to become a PHP rockstar, which books should I learn from as a beginner, intermediate, and then advanced programmer?

Thanks,

Re:PHP Book for Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced - 2009/02/23 04:39 I like books that deal with both PHP and MySQL rather than strictly PHP. There are so many books/ tutorials out there that it's hard to know which will work for you. I'm currently reading Practical PHP and MySQL: Building Eight Dynamic Web Applications by Jono Bacon. I like this book because it actually walks you through several real life applications(blog, calendar, forum, shopping cart, etc), the language is easy(not too technical). I'm also reading PHP 5 for Dummies by Janet Valade. This book is good if you like the way the 'Dummies' series is written. I like it - it's easy to understand (hence the name) and has plenty of examples. There's some great video tutorials here: http://www.phpvideotutorials.com/free.
