Please tell me about bostonphp.org - 2006/07/19 06:51 Hi. I'm new to Joomla and new to Boston PHP. I'm considering using Joomla for my own web site, but am also looking at the features that several other CMS's offer. I noticed that the Boston PHP web site has podcasting. I wasn't aware that Joomla had a module for that. Is a podcasting module available, or was that written by the Boston PHP people specifically for their own use? I also like the calendar. Which module is that?

One thing I really could use in a CMS is the ability to create groups, put members in the appropriate groups, and then send emails just to a specific group. I don't always want to send emails to ALL members at one time. Is this functionality available with Joomla?

One last thing... Does Joomla allow members to create their own blogs? I don't see that feature on bostonphp. Thanks for the help,

Bill

Re:Please tell me about bostonphp.org - 2006/07/19 07:18 Joomla! is nothing short of aaaaawwwsome! The podcast on BostonPHP is the Joomla Podcasting Component (google will find it). The calendar is extCalendar, however, we're switching to gigCalendar shortly. The letterman component will let you email newsletters to different group, however, I'm sure there are others (might want to look into Community Builder stuff).
